Forecast

If you have nothing to talk about, talk about the weather.
It's one way to break the ice, another way to just ramble on for a few minutes and kill time.
My current weather looks promising. Until the rain comes back.
And, believe it or not, those temps are not right.
It's usually colder and much much much more brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Of course, weather.com tells me it's going to be nice and warm on the weekend...but heck, when I get off Monday and Tuesday...cold, rainy, stormy. Just super fantastic. Might stay home all day Monday. Tuesday I have plans so no matter what the day will bring I'm going out. Could it please get nice that day?! Pretty please?!

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend.
I'll be working. :(

Someone's gotta do it.
This time it's me.
Wish me luck.
At least I can breathe while I work. *less hovering*
*and in the meantime I need to find a new job, new school, new perspective on life, and new everything*
*basically I need to re-order my life, start from scratch, and make it unforgettable*

*I so feel like a loser and total loner - maybe I am*

Happy Weekend.

Fill in the blank...

It's Fill in the Blank Friday again. Thank you, Lauren, for giving us a chance to do this...it's a great way to look forward to any Friday! :) Yay!
And I just got home from a very long day at work, an irritating and annoying new system, a quick stop at Starbucks *hello frappuccino*...and now I'm here...so excuse my weird answers... ;)

1.  The last thing I do before going to sleep is    turn off the light.

2.  When I can't sleep I   toss and turn, try to "dream" which hardly ever happens...and then well, when I can't sleep I get up and watch TV or read. Has worked so far .

3.  The first thing I do when I wake up is  pee, and then shower (unless I don't have to go to work right away or have a day off, then the shower can wait a little longer...I may then go back to bed. I may be awake but this doesn't mean that I'm staying away from my bed) .

4.  When I'm tired I   get cranky, and extremely quiet. Sometimes I also get extremely chatty, too.

5.  My dream bedroom would be   all eggshell whites with splashes of turquoise and purple, a huge bed with fluffy pillows/comforter. Skyline pictures all over. A huge window and a patio/balcony that offers me the best view ever, preferably of the ocean or part of the city and the ocean at once. I would have a separate entry to my very own closet, too. Big enough for everything...with mirrors, and all. Plus, a little reading section is a must in my bedroom too, next to another window. A giant bathroom *eggshell white tiles with turquoise polka dots or something like that*, two sinks, a huge bathtub, and a shower. It just needs to look cozy and clean, nothing too stylish or too much just enough so I can be proud of my room.

6.  If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be   somewhere warm, cozy, quiet, with a butler waiting to serve some awesome breakfast overlooking the ocean. :) I don't care where it's at, just as long as I am there....

7.  The longest sleep I've ever had was   about 14 hours straight, after jet lag hit me bad. Years ago but I still remember it so clearly because I did not hear any of my alarm clocks, and back then I had four of them. It threw me off and just irritated me.

8.  I sleep on my   right side, sometimes left side, all curled up in fetus position.

9.  When I sleep, I like to wear    cotton PJ pants and a top that goes with the pants.

10.  My bedtime is usually   something between 9.30pm to 2am. It all depends on how I work. If I need to get up at 5 in the morning I end up going to bed earlier, if I work till 11pm I can't go to bed right away when I get home unless an early shift awaits me the next day. And if it's my day off/vacation time...I may end up in bed around 10 or midnight, or later or earlier...haha...see?! Can't even come up with a proper bedtime answer!!

For more fun answers, hop on over to Lauren's the little things we do... and join the fun. :)

Hope you're all having a fabulous Friday.
The sun came out again, so I'm definitely happy!!! :)

Vintage Style

Remember, when I mentioned that I believe I had lived in the 1930s or 1950s or so?!
I still believe so. Not every day, but I do believe I've lived before and probably in that particular time. I don't want to go into details why, and I don't want to go all crazy on this "life before" topic. I know just too well that there are people out there that don't believe in this at all, and I totally respect that. We all have different beliefs and pray differently (or at all), and that is what makes us all so very unique and normal. That's what makes life and blogging so special. It brings random people together who share daily musings, events, happy or sad moments, you name it. New friendships may blossom, old ones may become stronger and better. Anyways, the 1930s to 1950s and even 1960s intrigue me. So, I thought I'd share some pictures with you I found online. Sadly I don't own any of them, but trust me, just looking at them makes me go awwwwwww....

 All above pictures via

And even the 1800s fascinate me...beginning or end...it just numbs me every time I see pictures, hold books, and see fashion...I'm in total awe!

Okay, I'm done now.
Back to 2010!!! Wow!!!

Have a terrific day everyone.

Just Because...

And I have to do it today.
I'm going back to work.
Five endless days of long hours and ridiculous questions.
Never ever has it occurred to me that people can be so annoyingly clueless at times.
I may not know everything either, but at least I know how to open a door.
Either pull or push.
Unless it opens automatically.

Have a brilliant Wednesday.

Pizza, Wine, and Palm Trees

I'm off to some Italian flair today!!!!
Just for one day, can't wait!

In the meantime...have a look at mini me...

I cleaned some things, and found this picture of me glued on a birthday card I received about ten years ago!
I have the original in my album but thought I would use this copy to share with you.
Rarely you can see me do that today...wearing a dress and smiling. Or share personal stuff. ;)
But I know I got it in me. Somewhere!

Little 25-month old me!!!
How weird is this?! ;)

Happy Weekend Everyone

It's Monday I know. My weekend just started though. :)

Summer has a weird way to show its true face.
First, it seems summer never wants to make its way to this place.
Then, finally here, it's ridiculously hot and so not humid (and I wish it was humid, because my skin's so dry these days! - however, it gives me a chance to use my new lotion I so adore!!).
And now?! Summer's fallen in love with fall I guess. It has cooled down a lot and just doesn't seem to get warm enough for sandals and summer clothes. It's only July! Doesn't summer know fall starts maybe in late September?! ;) Don't fall for fall summer, it's not worth it (yet!).

I'm freezing my butt off.
At some point last week I was seriously considering wearing my fall jacket...not something I want to put on now but if it's cold it's cold. And being sick and stuck at home is not an option at my work place, so even with a heavy head, fever and such I would have to show up. AND that is not my thing. Can't work and be sick at the same time. Just can't. Did it a million times and it wasn't fun. Don't ask yourself why we can't take off when we're sick...it's just sad. We can't. Simple as that. Tragic, too!

So, here's a few things that make me happy.
And if summer sees these...please come back?!  Thanks!!

via
My daily moisturizer. Loving it!
Jacqua's buttercream frosting foot cream is a must these days!
Oh, do I miss PCH!
Why is it so darn far away?!!????
Sigh.
Just had one of these earlier today.
Even though it was a bit chilly outside I just refused to drink something hot.

Happy Monday everyone! :)

To Whom It May Concern

Dear cellphone,

Please don't die on me. Not yet. OK?! You have been my companion for quite some time, and even though I was thinking to replace you I decided not to. At least not now. Your color makes me happy, every day that I see you. When you ring because you need to wake me up, I get to hold you for a while and make sure you will ring again in nine minutes. You've never disappointed me. And yes, I know it's not right that you are not being used to your fullest potential but what can I do?! No one will call me. And I know you want to ring longer than just a few seconds each morning, or when a text arrives. I can't change that right now. I'm trying to because you deserve to work a little more, but please don't just die on me because of boredom. Ok?! Thank you.
Your owner

Dear summer,

You had a rough start. Everyone wanted you, and everyone kept on shouting why it took you so long to arrive. However, you made your way to us and we love you for that. You've been incredibly good to us and I for sure appreciate that. Can I ask you something though?! Did something upset you?! You've turned your back on us and your ugly cousins rain and wind arrived. Why did you send them?! Why?!
Please come back and explain yourself. I'm sure we can work things out.

Your fan, forever

Dear work,

Let's get real here. We both know what's going on and we both know this has to stop. It's not fair to either one of us. We deserve better and I for once have been loyal. Have you ever considered that?! I have. It's not like I'm against you or don't like you. But you haven't showed your true self either and just neglected me. I'm a person with a heart, you know. I deserve better too. Don't take me for granted, ok?! I'm not just some girl you gives her bests and then receives nothing in return. I've always treated you with respect and professionalism. I take you serious, every single day. You may drive me nuts at times, but that's part of the deal. However, if you continue to treat me like dirt...I would have to end our long term friendship. Sorry.

The obviously unappreciated one

Dear body lotion,

Could you be any more awesome?!!??? I'm glad we met in that one aisle in the supermarket. You just stood out and introduced yourself first. So courageous. Thank you. :)
the girl that needed a new morning boost

Dear PLL,

Thank you...every week I tune back in and am amazed. You never failed to entertain me. Please don't get weird and creepy, ok?! The dosage you are showing so far is good enough. :)

The avid viewer

Dear blog,

Thank you for a fun year. More than just that. I've shared some of my ups and mostly some of my downs. You don't know everything but that's okay. You don't have to. You deserve to know the happy parts too and I promise to make sure that more happy stories will be written. I'm trying my best. After all though, it is my outlet to let go of whatever is going on around me...whether or not you like it, whether or not you agree with me. I'm writing it and you just represent me as good as you possibly can. So far, you've done a terrific job. Thank you.
Your creator

Hope you had a terrific weekend!!!
Mine starts today, Sunday, at this very moment...because I just woke up from a long nap, put my work clothes away and can now relax!!! :)

Plans?!
It all depends on the weather but if it's dry and not too cold I may take the train and travel for a day. I don't know this country. It saddens me. I just don't know it. It's about time!!! So, we shall see what tomorrow brings. :)

xoxo,

Friday Funny

The first three days of work are behind me.
So far so good. I'm exhausted though. Crazy. Is it possible to be THIS exhausted?! Really?
I wanted to nap, but nope...decided to catch up on Pretty Little Liars, read blogs and enjoy the current moment. It's about the little things in life. Right?! As silly and as unimportant they may be, the little things are important. I know that; and I won't forget that. :)

Happy Friday everyone!

Wait, no, I wanted to post something...
...so it is Friday and this normally means two things: Fill in the blank, and Friday Funny. Sometimes I can do both, sometimes not. Sometimes not even both. But today...it's one of the...which one?! ha!

Keeping Up With Kelly & Co

 There are two things...
...one...this cute guy decided to join us on this planet... :)  Welcome!! So happy for Jess and her family.

...two...an email I got last week but totally forgot to share it earlier...re-read it again and it made me smile. A lot. Besides, every time I use the bathroom this story pops up in my head. Wonder why. ;)

Why women go to the toilet in pairs...

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied.
Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants!

The dispenser for the modern "seat covers"(invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty.

You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your pants, and assume " The Stance.."
In this position your aging, toneless (God I should have gone to the gym!!!) thigh muscles begin to shake.

You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance".
To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck that, now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That will have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail.

Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work.

The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet.

"Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT.

It is wet of course.

You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try.

You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, "You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get".
By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes.

The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too.

At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat.

You're e-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d.

You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.
You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors.....so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting..
You are no longer able to smile politely to them.

A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this".

As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom.

Annoyed, he asks, "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"

*This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with public restrooms (rest??? You've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door shut, hang onto your purse, and hand you Kleenex under the door!*

now that's a nice one! ;)
I wouldn't post something without a picture from we ♥ it! ;)

Hop on onver to Kelly's blog if you want to join the fun!

Now, happy Friday everyone.

Thursday Love

Thursday crept up on me.
My first day of work *after 18 days of no work at all* was okay.
Couldn't decide what to wear, couldn't decide what to think of that day...but I survived and that's all that counts.
The only drawback during the entire day was the heat. It's been scorching hot lately (which I love by the way) but to work during this heat and keeping cool at the same time...not easy. ;)
Things that kept me "cool" during the day:
  • one full gallon of water *yes, I drank it all*
  • a new fan next to my desk *no AC at all in the building or at home*
  • summer music from the local radio station
  • knowing my shift would be over in nine hours
Nothing exciting but at least I survived. I feel just misplaced at work, and so not appreciated. Not what you want when you're working. At all. It's what scares me every single time I wake up and need to get ready. However, there are always things to dream about and get inspired by...here's what keeps me going lately...from TV shows, to fashion, food, and leisure...

all pictures via we ♥ it unless otherwise stated

Time for me to get started again...with the day and later on with work.
So gonna grab something cold on my way to work. :)

Have a terrific Thursday!
Can't believe how fast this week went by.

I'll Have A Shelf, Please!

Do you read?!
Sure you do.
If not books, then maybe blogs?!
If no books you're missing out but hey, I'm not judging.
There are times I can't read at all. I just can't. Right now it's one of those moments I just can't hold a book. Not sure why but I'm sure the book-reading-time comes back and I can't stop putting it down. :)

If you read books, do you go to the library or do you buy the books?!
I buy mine. Don't want to share them with thousands of other people.
Though over the years (including my school books!) I'm sort of having a hard time putting all of them away. I have bookshelves, but 1) they are not pretty, 2) not stylish 3) full. So I'm looking into some new bookshelf inspiration....have a look.

all pics via tumblr

Now that's bookshelf inspiration.
Maybe the last one?! Or the one with the staircase?! YES.

Have a splendid day.
And welcome to my newest followers! :)

London In Pictures

I owe you these....no?! Well, look at them anyway! Thanks! ;)

Yes, couldn't resist. I got myself something from A & F!! Just had to when I saw the store in London. ;)
Ok, that's a lie. I had to the guy was hot...;)
Random Japanese tourist taking a nap in the museum
Can you see me?!
I'm standing right there...Yes, that's me!
But now you can see me? Right?!
Like almost all of me! ;)
And yes, I do look a little yellow there and yes, tired, too.
Taken just a few minutes down in the Tube station before the train arrived that took us back to the airport.

I've a rough couple of days. Not sure what's going on.
Something is going on.
I'm definitely not a happy person.
No fun.
Yes.
However, I've tried to put some positivity into this picture thing.
I debated long enough whether or not to post anything.
Though I did.
Ignore my poor sense of fashion because that week I did not care what I was wearing. Ok, I did, but I just couldn't go for the perfect look. I didn't feel it.

I'm trying to find happiness...more positive thinking, thoughts, love, and just summer vibes.
I'm speechless to how bored I am and how miserable I feel.

I'm gonna bake something now.
Even though I'm trying to cut down on sweets and such, baking has always calmed me down.

xoxo,
♥ Selma ♥

P.s. As much as I wanted to ride a bus and take a picture of myself riding it, I didn't ride one. Hence, no picture of me riding it etc. And if you were thinking why I am writing this...this is intended just for one person. She knows who she is. ;)
